San Diego, CA | $3.9M renovation

Services

+ Mold and asbestos abatement

+ ADA upgrades

+ T24 and seismic upgrades

+ Demolition of all existing finishes

+ Framing and drywall replacement

+ Interior renovations of guest rooms

Background

Once construction began on this 1954 hotel located on Mission Bay, extensive damage from long term exposure to the elements was discovered. Mold, asbestos and water damage would need to be addressed. Guestroom kitchenettes and bathrooms had to be demolished down to the studs and rebuilt.

Solution

We built a revised schedule to add the mold and asbestos abatement in a negative air pressure environment. This ran simultaneously with our construction crews to keep the project on its original schedule.

Results

We came up with cost effective construction methods to resolve the element exposure issues that allowed the entire renovation project to be completed as scheduled.
